Gone are the days when you have a V8-engined GT car. GT cars are now becoming compact and more gas-friendly. In fact, if you will look at these changes, it actually favors the Asian car manufacturers. Asian cars are now becoming smoother vehicles at par with their bulky North American counterparts. In fact, if you were excited with the Kia Cee’d, then definitely, you’d love the Kia Pro_cee’d.
Convertible has become a great option for so many GT car enthusiasts these days. Whether it’s an Asian Mazda Miata or a BMW 3 Series, a lot of car enthusiasts didn’t see the Kia Pro_cee’d coming. The Kia Kia Pro_cee’d GT is somewhat alluring based on the sketch released by the company.
Moving Beyond The Convention
The stereotype of Kia has something to do with its compact family cars. With the market expansion in mind Kia, they created economical and mainstream luxury cars including the Quoris brand that rolled out in China recently. The Kia Pro_cee’d raise eyebrows based on how it is going to be typed, but this convertible is actually a revamped version of the hatchback Cee’d.
Based on the acceptance of the Kia market to the Cee’d, it may take a while before the Kia Pro_cee’d get its own share of respect. In fact, the difference between the hatchback and the convertible is that the latter is a bit more impractical than the other.
Also, and since it was directly lifted from a hatchback, who would like to drive a convertible that used to be a hatchback? With small rear windows, though with enough legroom, this car is a compact convertible. Though it looks sleek and sporty, it may not become successful in stealing some market share away from the big boys.
Convertible with a Hatchback Performance
Given the £18,000 price tag, anyone would have expected the convertible Kia Pro_cee’d to have a good performance. In fact, if there is anything that is worth noticing about this car, it is its size. And as expected, you just can’t turn a hatchback into a convertible by removing its two doors and hard hat. In terms of acceleration, it can spike from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 11.5 seconds. Despite the lack of acceleration, it can run at a top speed of 121 miles per hour.
Why Buy the Car?
There are reasons why you would want to buy a car. One, the performance of the car is somewhat decent. Though it is not a high-caliber Porsche, it is definitely a great deal for a Kia. Also, if you want to have that compact vehicle that is efficient in its gas consumption, then you have a strong contender.
What Kia did was a great job at marketing a car that was once a hatchback. Kia is, in fact, planning to expand the horizons for their market. Kia is trying to maximize the GT market worldwide. But, unfortunately, the company still has a lot to learn. They need to make sure that they study the market and decide which niche they should go for.
